Suitable for compression of electrical connectors on copper conductors up to 630 mm
and aluminium conductors up to 500 mm
– Crimping force: ..................................................................................................... 230 kN
– Max operating pressure: ................................................................................... 700 bar (10,000 psi)
– Dimensions: length .......................................................................................... 320 mm (12.6 in.)
width ............................................................................................ 110 mm (4.33 in.)
– Weight: ....................................................................................................................... 6,4 kg (14.11 lbs)
– The RHU231 head, when used with adaptor AU231-130-C (see FIG. 5), is suitable for all semi-
circular dies common to all 130 kN Cembre to crimp connectors on copper conductors up to
2
400 mm
(800 MCM) and for aluminium conductors up to 300 mm
With suitable adaptors, the whole range of pre-rounding dies and dies common to all 130 kN
Cembre tools can also be used to crimp connectors on aluminium cables up to 240mm
the deep indent crimping system (see tables A and B and FIG. 3).
– The use of specifi c hexagonal dies allows for crimping connectors on conductors in general up
2
to 630 mm
(1250 MCM) (see FIG. 4).
– A range of containing dies allows for crimping connectors on aluminium conductors up to 500
2
mm
(1000 MCM) (see tables A and B and FIG. 2).
3. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE (Ref. to Fig. 2 and 3)
3.1) Setting
The head is equipped with a "self-lock"quick male coupler suitable for connection to a hydraulic,
pneumatic or electrical pump from the Cembre range.
4. CRIMPING OF CONNECTORS ON ALUMINIUM CABLES WITH SECTION
4.1) Pre-rounding conductor
– Select the pre-rounding dies to be used, according to table A.
– Locate the lower part of the pre-rounding die into the ram (2) by pulling knob (20).
– Insert the upper part into the guides of the fork and push to lock it into the operating position
according to the grooves on the sides of the pre-rounding die, which must correspond with grub
screw (8) on the arms of the fork.
– Position the conductor into the pre-rounding die UP230....
– Operate the pump until the fi xed and mobile parts of the pre-rounding die are fully closed.
Release the hydraulic pressure on the pump to remove the compacted round conductor (see § 6.4).
