1 Application
The TPE-RS 100 Q has been designed to peel
wall-to-wall carpeting from fl oors and to re-
move fabric bases, compact-foam foundation
bases and to remove textile wall coverings
and adhesive residues.

2.1 General safety instructions

WARNING! Read all safety warnings
and all instructions. Failure to
follow the warnings and instructions may
result in electric shock, fi re and/or serious
injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for
future reference.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers
to your mains-operated (corded) power tool
or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
Wear suitable protection such as
ear protection, safety goggles, a
dust mask for work which gener-
ates dust, and protective gloves
when working with raw materials
and when changing tools.
2.2 Noise and vibrations fi gure
Levels determined in accordance with EN
60 745 are typically:
Sound pressure level
Noise level

Overall vibration levels (vector sum for three
directions) measured in accordance with
EN 60 745:

Vibration emission level
(3 directions):
Uncertainty
The emission values specified (vibration,
noise) were measured in accordance with
the test conditions stipulated in EN 60 745
and are intended for machine comparisons.
They are also used for making preliminary
estimates regarding vibration and noise loads
during operation.
The emission values specifi ed refer to the
main applications for which the power tool
is used. If the electric power tool is used
for other applications, with other tools or is
not maintained suffi ciently prior to opera-
tion, however, the vibration and noise load
may be higher when the tool is used. Take
into account any machine idling times and
downtimes to estimate these values more
accurately for a specifi ed time period. This
may signifi cantly reduce the load during the
machine operating period.
2.3 Metalworking
If the device is used primarily for process-
ing metals the inside of the drive unit may
become very dirty. In such cases we recom-
mend the use of a high-power extractor, a
shortening of cleaning cycles and/or the series
connection of a faulty current safety switch.
3 Electrical connection and start-up
The mains voltage must correspond with the
voltage fi gure on the rating plate!
See Fig. 5 for connection and disconnection
of the power cable.
Warning: Always switch the machine
off before connecting or disconnecting
the mains lead!
A trigger switch (1.2) is used as an on/off
switch. The trigger switch can be locked
with the side button for permanent opera-
tion (1.1).
The catch is released by pressing the trigger
switch again.
4 Use
Before commencing peeling, it is useful to cut
the carpets in lengths so that the guide rolls
them up during the removal process.
The most favourable working angle (1) be-
tween the carpet knife (2.3) and the surface
of the fl oor depends on the covering to be
removed and the structure of the fl oor be-
neath it. Angles between 10 and 30° usually
provide the best results.
When working in small areas, in corners, on
stairs or in narrow spaces, the machine is
usually hand held. Work in large areas is made
easier when the handle (see point 5 for more
information) is used.
