11) Wiggle your fingers to ensure the correct clearance. If there is less than 20 mm clearance
between the user and the wheelchair seat, air must be added and the process repeated.
INFORMATION: A hand check should be performed daily for all dry air flotation cush
ions. The seat cushion needs to be readjusted only when there is a change in clear
ance during a hand check, or after a puncture in the air insert has been repaired.

7 Use
7.1 Positioning
CAUTION
Damage to the product, unexpected noise or odours
Health problems for the user due to improper handling
Stop using the product immediately in the event of defects or other hazards that can result in

personal injury, or if there are noises or smells that greatly differ from the delivered condition
of the product.
Contact the qualified personnel.

Report damage to the product that may cause health problems for the user to Ottobock.

Place the seat cushion in the middle of the seat so that there is sufficient space on all sides

for the wheels and frame.
Optimum pressure redistribution is ensured when the leg support of the wheelchair is adjus

ted so that the thigh of the user completely rests on the seat cushion.
Regularly remove dust and dirt particles from the hook-and-loop strap at the bottom so that
►
the seat cushion remains firmly in place.
Correct positioning of the seat cushion in the wheelchair must be maintained for daily use:
•
The label that says "REAR" points towards the back support (see fig. 5).
•
The flat side points downwards, the contoured side points upwards.
•
The hook-and-loop strap on the cover faces the wheelchair's seat bottom. It is used to attach
the seat cushion in the wheelchair.
7.2 Removing/putting on the cover
Removing the cover
The cover can be removed for washing the seat cushion:
1) Open the zip on all three sides of the cover (see fig. 14).
2) Lift up the cover from the seating surface of the cushion (see fig. 15; see fig. 16).
3) Pull the tube on the air insert out of the cover (see fig. 17).
4) Carefully remove the foam base with the air insert from the cover (see fig. 18).

Putting on the cover
1) Ensure the air insert is in the correct position (see Page 23).
2) Open the zip on all three sides of the cover (see fig. 14).
3) Put the seat cushion into the cover with the zip running along the rear and side edges (see
fig. 18).
4) Push the tube on the air insert into the cover (see fig. 17).
5) Pull the cover over the cushion (see fig. 16; see fig. 15).
6) Zip up the cover again (see fig. 19).
7) Ensure the cover fits well and there are no large folds or wrinkles on the top surface.
