of the machine, and turn the pulley as to start the motor.
If a spark is not seen between the plug electrodes, see if the plug wire connections are tight. If currents still
does not reach the electrodes, change the plug.
If the motor still does not start with a new sparking plug, the trouble is to be found in the electrical system,
points, condenser, coil or the other parts and it is advisable to turn to the nearest service point or a
specialized shop.
2) Diesel motor does not start.
Make the following checks in the order given.
The breather hole in the fuel tank is not clogged.
The fuel tank is at least half full. If surrounding temperature is very low, fill the tank, located on the head
and closed with a rubber plug, with motor oil. If the motor still does not start, purge the fuel lines of air
according to the instructions given by the motor manual. If the motor still does not start, go to the nearest
service point or a specialized shop.
3) The gears don't engage.
Adjust the clutch, unscrewing the adjusting screw B (fig 17) until the clutch disengages properly. To replace
and assemble the clutch refer to page 42.
STORAGE
If the machine is not to be used for a long period of time it is advisable to take the following precautions:
Empty the carburettor.
Empty the oil motor.
Lubricate the cylinder introducing few drops of the same kind of oil used for the motor through the plug
hole and turning the motor over several times without starting it. If it is a diesel motor remove the injector
by unscrewing the two bolts which fasten it to the head and pour some oil into the hole.
Lean the motor and the machine thoroughly.
Protect the teeth of the bar with the front protection and control that the blade doesn't escape from the
side of the bar.
When restarting the operations check that all security devices (motor-stop, reverse motion/PTO, clutch
lever stopper) are working.
