Preliminary note:
All information provided in this manual refers to a BS EN 795-
A/2012 anchor post, compatible with use on lifeline in compliance
with EN 795-C/1996 "from the end-middle or turn". All indications
referring to protection concern individual protection against falls
from height.
In order to ensure continuous improvement of its products, Tractel
reserves the right to make any changes considered useful to the
equipment described in this manual, at any moment it deems
appropriate.
Companies in the Tractel
will provide documentation on the range of Tractel
request: Lifting and pulling devices and accessories, site and
facade access equipment, safety devices for loads, electronic
load indicators, etc.
The Tractel
®
network can provide an after sales and regular
maintenance service.

1. Priority instructions

"DANGER":
1. Before using the anchor post, it is essential for the safety
and efficiency of its use, to carefully read this manual, to
fully understand the content, and strictly comply with its
requirements.
2. This manual must be preserved in good condition, just up to
when the lifeline is taken out of service, and be available to
all users. Additional copies can be supplied on request.

3. The information marked on the device (see "Marking" section)
must remain totally legible. In the event that these
recommendations should be removed, the device must be
permanently withdrawn from use.
4. The anchor post is a component in the fall arrest security
system, which must be used exclusively in combination with
other mutually compatible components and comply with safety
regulations and standards, including the EN 363 Standard.
5. The anchor post can only be used by trained and competent
personnel or under the supervision of a third party. The content
of this training must include the procedure to be followed in

products on
case of one or more users falling, and a demonstration of
setting up the anchor post with a fall arrest system in a situation
of use, and under safety conditions.
6. It is essential to follow the recommendations for association of
equipment making up the fall arrest system, in accordance with
these instructions and the instructions supplied with the
®
associated equipment.
7. Tractel
®
can only guarantee a fall arrest system if it consists
entirely of components sold, maintained, assembled and
installed in accordance with safety rules and standards.
8. Tractel
®
disclaims all liability for the operation of an anchor post
that has been disassembled out of its control, especially when
original parts have been replaced with spare parts from another
source.
9. Any modification or addition to the equipment can be done only
upon prior written approval from Tractel
10. Before using the anchor post, the user(s), or the authority
responsible for their safety, must verify the strength of structural
anchors (anchor bolt) of the safety support (post) in accordance
with the regulations and standards in force. The bolts must be
compatible with the structure, their size must be appropriate, as
per the results of the design calculations required to run the
site (see Tables 1/2/3). These design calculations must be
performed by a competent engineer who will take into account
all technical and site specific data essential for correct
installation of the anchor post.
The bolts should ensure a minimum tensile strength at the head
of post of 1,200 daN for BSEN 795-A/2012 posts and a
maximum of 3,000 daN for posts compatible with use of a
lifeline in compliance with EN 795-C/1996.
11. Never use an anchorage post that is not in apparent good
order. All anchor points showing signs of weakness or
deterioration must be eliminated.
12. Any anchor post that has arrested a fall; the subsequent safety
of which may be in doubt must be inspected by Tractel
authorised service engineer. The system cannot be reused
without written consent from Tractel
engineer.
13. All repairs must be performed by Tractel
service engineer.
