4.0 Installation
Note! The product is heavy. Make sure you have help when
lifting it.
4.1 Preparation/installation
NB: the cast iron legs are not to be used.
1.
Place the cardboard packaging on the floor and lay the insert
carefully down on its back.
.
Assemble the heat shield under the base of the fire with
the aid of 1 collar head screw (M6x10mm) which is fastened
under the base plate.
3.
Place the steel plate (fig. 5 - 900925) under the insert so
that the bolts in the insert pass through the plate. Secure
them on the underside with nuts. The two holes in the plate
should face forwards.
4.
Make sure to have assistance and lift the product carefully
up.
4.2 Installation of the soap stone
surround
Necessary tools: Spirit level, tape measure, hammer, rubber
hammer, sheet metal shears.
Remember that the stones can easily be damaged if they are
not handled with care.
If the surface becomes scratched, it can be polished with fine
sandpaper. Deeper scratches can be repaired by filling the scratch
with a paste made from soap stone powder and water glass.
1. Decide where the fireplace will stand (in relation to the
chimney). Flooring within the surround must be covered by
a steel plate (minimum thickness 0.9 mm) if the fireplace is
to stand on a floor of combustible material.
Note! The underlay must be completely level. Max. 2
mm/m tolerance. This is very important for the rest of the
installation process.
. Lay out all the stones carefully following the numbering of
the stones as shown in figure 1C.
3. First lay out the stones for layer 1. (Z88-Z94-Z92-Z88).
4. Make sure that all the stones are level. If necessary use
small pieces of steel or cement to adjust the height of the
stones.
5. Attach the side to the front stone with the help of clamps
(900031).
6. Use a hammer to attach the mounting pieces. See fig. 2
(900038). Be careful not to split the stones when hammering
in the clamps.
7. Attach the steel plate to the back with the clips (900286).
(Check that the airway at the bottom of the heat shield is
removed).
8. Lay the stones for layer (Z96-Z93-Z93-Z95) and hammer in
the clips – also to the screen plate behind. (See fig. 4).
9. Position the lower shelf (Z97). Secure it in the corners with
clamps (see fig. 4).
10. Position the plate (with the insert in) in the cut-out in the
side stones (fig. 5).
11. Position the smoke bend and measure where the hole for the
chimney is to be placed and adjust the smoke pipes.
