5 Operation
Observe the safety instructions and warnings in this documentation and on the product.
5.1 Charging
1. Turn the rotary switch to the position for standby mode
2. Connect the charging cord supplied with the product to the AC charging input and turn the bayonet
connector clockwise until it latches.
To ensure operability, make sure that the bayonet connection latches correctly.
3. Connect the charging cord to a power outlet.
▶ The LEDs that show green indicate the current state of charge.
▶ If the energy storage battery is fully charged, all the LEDs show green for 10 seconds. The state of
charge indicator then goes out.
4. After charging, disconnect the charging cord and switch the energy system to transport mode

Electric shock hazard! Electric shock and/or component damage possible.
▶ Whenever more than one consumer is connected, the consumers have to be protected by a portable
residual current device (PRCD).
▶ Comply with the connection possibilities / combinations as described.
1. Turn the rotary switch to the position for operational mode
LEDs flash.
▶ If one or more LEDs subsequently show green, this indicates that the energy system is ready for
operation.
▶ If one LED flashes green after the start sequence, this indicates that the energy system is completely
discharged. Charge the battery.
▶ If no LEDs show after the start sequence, there is a fault in the system. Consult Hilti Service.
2. Connect a consumer to the AC output.
3. Comply with the following instructions for powering more than one consumer off the energy system:
▶ If a consumer is powered off a vacuum cleaner connected to the energy system, the consumer has
to be connected to the vacuum cleaner via a portable residual current device.
▶ For connecting two consumers, Hilti offers a splitter with integral portable residual current device.
▶ If multi-outlet power strips are used, each connected consumer has to be protected by a portable
residual current device of its own.
4. During operation, the LEDs indicate the current state of charge.
5. To interrupt use of the energy system, turn the rotary switch to the position for standby mode
6. To switch the energy system off completely, turn the rotary switch to the position for transport mode
