Help in case of malfunction

Removing saw chain and chain bar
1. Remove socket-head screws (16/1) using the
hexagon of the Allen key.
2. Remove the centre section (16/2) and
sprocket cover (16/3).
3. Remove saw chain (16/4) and chain bar
(16/5).
4. Remove the saw chain from the chain bar.
Cleaning
1. Clean all removed components of wood chips
and oil deposits.
2. Clean all exposed parts of the saw head, in
particular the sprocket and oil entry hole.
Installing saw chain and chain bar
1. Turn chain tensioning screw (17/1) using the
screwdriver of the Allen key until chain ten-
sioning pin (17/2) is at the rear thread end of
the thread (17/a), see chapter 8.3 "Tension-
ing and slackening the saw chain (15)",
page 36.
2. Place the saw chain on the chain bar:
Align (18/a) the cutting teeth (18/1) of the
saw chain (18/2) that are to lie on the top
of the chain bar with the tip of the chain
bar (18/3).
Note: Make sure that the chain is cor-
rectly mounted!
Place the saw chain in the groove (18/4)
of the chain bar and guide completely
around the chain bar.
Malfunction
Motor does not start.
Motor keeps cutting out.
The chain bar and saw chain be-
come hot when running. Gener-
ation of smoke.

3. Place the chain bar together with the fitted
saw chain into the open housing:

5. Tension the saw chain (see chapter 8.3 "Ten-
sioning and slackening the saw chain (15)",
page 36).
9 HELP IN CASE OF MALFUNCTION
CAUTION! Risk of injury. Sharp-edged
and moving appliance parts can lead to injury.
Always wear protective gloves during mainte-
nance, care and cleaning work!
NOTE For malfunctions that are not listed in
this table or that you cannot resolve yourself,
please contact our customer service.
Cause
Rechargeable battery is flat.
Rechargeable battery miss-
ing or rechargeable battery
not seated correctly.
Power supply is interrupted.
The ON/OFF switch is defec-
tive.
The saw chain is tensioned
too tightly.
Oil tank is empty.
Lay the saw chain (19/1) around the
sprocket (19/2).
Align the chain bar (19/3) in such a way
that the guide pin (19/4) engages in the
slotted hole of the chain bar.
Align the chain bar so that chain tension-
ing pin (19/5) engages in the chain ten-
sioning hole.
Align the saw chain so that it is in the
groove of the chain bar and on the drive
sprocket.
Install sprocket cover (20/1) and centre
section (20/2).
Insert and tighten the socket-head
screws (20/3).
Remedy
Charge the battery.
Install the battery correctly.
1. Remove the battery.
2. Clean the plug contacts.
3. Insert the rechargeable bat-
tery again.
Contact a service centre of the
manufacturer.
Check the chain tension. Re-ten-
sion the saw chain.
Replenish the saw chain oil.
