2.1 Device description

This confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscope is a widefield digital imaging device capable of capturing the area
from the central pole to the far periphery of the retina. The retinal images are captured in an automated, patient
friendly way without scleral depression or contact with the cornea.
The P200TE Ophthalmoscope provides widefield Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope (SLO) fundus imaging and
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) imaging in one device.
Widefield Confocal Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope (SLO) fundus imaging is achieved using red and green
lasers. These laser wavelengths penetrate the retinal structures to different depths. Each wavelength provides
information for interpretation and diagnosis.
In autofluorescence mode, the device captures opto map
This allows an image of the natural fluorescence of the eye to be captured. Fluorescent dye is not introduced
into the patient when performing autofluorescence imaging.
OCT imaging is achieved using an infrared broadband Super Luminescent Diode (SLD) source. Spectral
Domain processing techniques are applied to construct axial and cross sectional scans.
Optos' technology is designed to operate through a minimum pupil diameter of 2 mm. Although pupil dilation is
required, the decision to dilate is a medical decision to be made by the eyecare professional.
NOT
Images are captured on the scan head and then viewed, magnified and separated into their components in the
review software.
Note
Depending on the features available on your device, you may have a subset of the features described in this
user guide.

2.2 Intended use

The P200TE is a non-contact scanning laser ophthalmoscope and optical coherence tomographer intended for
in vivo viewing and digital imaging of posterior ocular structures, including the retina, retinal nerve fiber layer,
and optic disc. It is indicated for producing high-resolution, widefield, en face reflectance images,
autofluorescence images, and axial, cross-sectional images of the posterior ocular structures.

2.3 Intended users

The device is intended for professional use only. Users
experience in operating ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic devices.
