To make and test the electrical connection, the following tools are required:
Diode test lamp (1 1, page 3) or voltmeter (1 2, page 3)
Hot air blower (1 10, page 3)
Crimping tool (1 11, page 3)
Soldering iron, if required (1 12, page 3)
Solder, if required (1 13, page 3)
Insulating tape
Heat shrinking sleeve
Cable bushing sleeves, if necessary
To secure the cable you may require additional screws and cable binders.

Mounting the camera

Note the following information when selecting a location to mount the camera:
Note the length of the camera cable.
If you wish to use the camera as a rear view video camera, we recommend installing
the camera in the middle of the bumper (5, page 6).
The installation location on the bumper should be perpendicular to the road surface,
so that the camera is mounted level.
The camera has a 104° horizontal field of view. Due to the field of vision, the rear
view video camera's registration of objects near the corner of the vehicle is restricted.
The following section describes the procedure for installing the rear view video camera in
the bumper. You can also install the camera in other places, depending on how you wish
to use it.
➤ Select a suitable installation location.
Caution
Before making any drill holes, ensure that no electrical cables or other parts of
the vehicle can be damaged by drilling, sawing and filing.
➤ Drill a hole with a diameter of 30 mm in the bumper.

Put the camera, with the socket in front, into the hole (5 A 1, page 6) and lock the
knurled nuts against each other (5 A 2 and 3, page 6).
Make sure that the camera is aligned correctly.
Note
Use the angle washers provided (5 B 4, page 6) to install the camera at
an angle.
