3.3 Installing
WiFi 6 Repeater 5400
In the following sections, we describe how to con-
nect the WiFi 6 Repeater 5400 and integrate it into
your Wi-Fi network.
CAUTION! Damage to the device caused
by ambient conditions
Only use device indoors in dry conditions
For the permitted voltage range for operat-
ing the device and the power consumption,
refer to the type plate on the rear of the de-
vice. For additional technical data on our
products, refer to the product area at
www.devolo.global.
CAUTION! Only operate device in a free-
standing position. Improper commis-
sioning will result in loss of speed.

Plug the WiFi 6 Repeater 5400 into a power
socket near your router for the initial set-up.

As soon as the dot of the Wi-Fi LED is lit green,
the device is ready to operate. It takes up to
2 minutes from the time the device is plugged
in until this status is reached.
The WiFi 6 Repeater 5400 has two different oper-
ating modes. It can be operated as a WiFi repeater
or an access point. Observe the specific procedures
based on the desired device mode.
devolo Home Network App
The devolo Home Network App automatically de-
tects
the
new
WiFi 6 Repeater 5400. A wizard guides you quickly
and easily through the process for setting up the
device as a WiFi repeater or access point (see 3.3.1

Installation via app).

Web interface of the device
Set up the device as a WiFi repeater or access point
manually by using the web interface of the
WiFi 6 Repeater 5400 (see 3.3.2 Installation via
web interface).
WPS activation by means of Add button
You can automatically set up the device as a Wi-Fi
repeater by pressing the Add button (WPS activa-
tion) (see 3.3.5 Configuration as a repeater using
the Add button (WPS)).
