OrthoPilot
4 wireless foot switch
The OrthoPilot® 4 wireless camera serves the OrthoPilot
System to provide measurement data. The measurement data serves the
Aesculap-specific application software in connection with Aesculap-spe-
cific navigation transmitters, including accessories, as a basis for enabling
the described use as a navigation system.

Preparation and setup

Non-compliance with the following rules will result in complete exclusion
of liability on the part of Aesculap.
When setting up and operating the product, adhere to:
– national regulations for installation and operation,
– national regulations on fire and explosion protection.
Installation and initial commissioning may only be performed by per-
sonnel authorized by Aesculap.
The service cover 17 may only be removed by authorized Aesculap ser-
vice personnel.
Note
For the safety of patients and users it is essential that the mains power cord
and, especially, the protective earth connection are intact. In many cases
defective or missing protective earth connections are not registered imme-
diately.
Observe all specifications regarding ambient conditions, see
Chapter 14.
5.1

Set-up environment/set-up location

DANGER
Fire and explosion hazard!
Use the product outside of explosion hazard zones (e.g. areas with
highly pure oxygen or anesthetic gases).

The OrthoPilot
4 panel PC is approved for use in operating rooms in the
non-sterile area.
®
The OrthoPilot
4 wireless camera is intended to be operated either on the
®
OrthoPilot
4 stand FS110 or on a suitable carrier system.
Make sure that the operating elements, power switch and outlet of the
building installation are accessible to the user.
Make sure that the plug is accessible to the user.
Set up the product in such a way that it can be easily disconnected
from the mains.
Lay non-system cables and cords separately from the OrthoPilot
panel PC. RF cables in particular can cause strong interference.
If interference from external devices is suspected, immediately deacti-
vate those devices, if possible, until the source of interference is found.
If necessary, consult a specialist in medical electrical devices to remedy
the interference.
If the device is disrupted, shut system down (see Chapter 6.1.2) and
disconnect it from power for approx. 10 seconds.
Make certain that the ventilation slots in the back side of the housing
are not covered, e.g. by an OR cloth.
Make certain the system is set up on a sufficiently stable support (e.g.
a table, ceiling support, equipment cart, etc.).
Follow the instructions for use of the support.

brakes.

Assembly

Insert the OrthoPilot
holder 20 of the carrier profile 21, see Fig. A.
Check interlock: in the locked condition, the locking lever 18 is on the
rear side of the Panel PC in the center position.
If desired, secure Panel PC against theft with integrated setscrew on
locking lever 18.
5.2.2

Disassembly

If necessary, loosen the threaded pin on locking lever 18, see Fig. A.
Set the locking lever 18 to the right or the left.

Disassemble connection interface

The OrthoPilot
4 panel PC is mounted on the OrthoPilot® 4 stand with the
connection interface. When using a different carrier system, the connec-
tion interface must be removed.
Loosen the four screws 14 and remove together with the VESA quick-
release 15.
Loosen two bolts 16 and remove along with the cover 17 .
Loosen the connection cable between the connection interface and
voltage input socket 22, see Fig. B.
