SYSTEM START-UP
Caution: Allow reader unit to acclimatize for
approx. three hours at room temperature.
The reader unit is equipped with a battery which
on a 100% charge permits independent ope-
ration without external power supply for up to
five hours. To that end, the battery needs to be
charged when first using the device. The power
supply unit is used to charge the reader unit
battery. It takes approx. 6 hours for the battery
to be completely charged.
The reader unit can also be operated during
the charging process (with connected power
supply unit).
Note: Charging is not possible at an ambient
temperature of more than 35°C!
Connecting the power supply
Caution: Incorrect accessories can cause da-
mage to the reader unit and pose a safety risk
to user and patient!
· Only use the original power supply unit for
the reader unit.
Mains voltage must correspond to the voltage
range stated on the label of the reader unit po-
wer supply.
· Insert the connector of the power supply unit
into the socket of the reader unit, see Fig. 2.
· Plug power supply unit into a wall power so-
cket.

Inserting the SD card
Caution: Improper use can damage the SD
card!
• Do not touch the contact strips on the SD
card
Insert the SD card designated for use with the
respective SENSOR RESERVOIR / SENSOR
PRECHAMBER (see patient data card) into the
reader unit until it locks into place (see Fig. 4).

FUNCTION CHECKS
· Check that the entire unit is in good condition
and fully functional prior to each use.
· To check battery status, perform a function
check without power supply.
· Ensure that neither the device nor the antenna
used for the function test show any visible signs
of damage.
· Check the function of the following compo-
nents in the given order:
1. Activate the On/Off switch
2. Automatic self-test after activation inclu-
