Wiring the gas warning system

WARNING
Explosion hazard when work is carried out whilst voltage is present or there is a potentially explosive atmosphere.
► Do not open the terminal box when energised or in the presence of an explosive atmosphere.
1. Earth the mounting plates of the transmitter and receiver.
To do so, connect the marked earth connection on the mounting plate to the local potential equalisation (screw: M5x8,
tightening torque: 4 Nm ±0.5, cable cross-section: 4 mm
2. Earth the housing of the transmitter and receiver.
To do so, connect the marked earth connection on the rear of the housing to PE (protective earth) (screw: M5x10, tightening
torque: 4 Nm ±0.5, cable cross-section: 4 mm
NOTICE
If armoured cables are being used, insulators must be installed in the cable connections between the transmitter and receiver
and to the control unit. This prevents the possibility of earth loops. The insulators are installed between the cable gland and
terminal boxes, for example.
Dräger recommends the use of shielded cables. With shielded cables, the shielding is only permitted to be used in the control
unit and on the "S" terminals in the terminal boxes.
