CAUTION:
The engine air cleaner element must be serviced (cleaned) all three months. The foam
element must be serviced more regularly if the mower is used in dry dusty condi-
tions.
1. Press down the tabs on the side of the filter cover (fig.10a).
2. Remove the cover and take out the filter element.
3.
Clean the paper filter against the suction direction of the motor with compressed
air or knock it out and clean it with a fine brush.
4. Reinstall the filter.
5. Close the filter cover. Make sure the fasteners are tight.

NOTE: Replace filter if frayed, torn, damaged or unable to be cleaned.

NGINE
Refer to the separate engine manual for engine maintenance instructions.
Maintain engine oil as instructed in the separate engine manual packed with your
unit.
The spark plug should be cleaned and the gap reset once a season. Spark plug re-
placement is recommended at the start of each mowing season; check engine manual
for correct plug type and gap specifications.
Keep the cooling system (blower housing area) clean to permit proper air circulation
which is essential to engine performance and life. Be certain to remove all grass, dirt
and combustible debris from the muffler area.
Do not allow dirt or dust to clog the air filter foam element.
