TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem
Engine does not
start.
Motor speed
drops.
Poor scarification
results.
The lawn looks ra-
ther tilled than
scarified. Grass
gets torn out.
Possible cause
Blade blocked.
Choke is not in the cor-
rect position.
Fuel tank is empty.
Air filter clogged.
Dirt in the carburettor.
Spark plug loose.
Spark plug contact
loose
Spark plug gap is incor-
rect.
Carburettor is flooded
with fuel.
Faulty ignition module.
Depth of cut too heavy.
Grass too high.
Ejector channel blocked
Air filter clogged.
Depth of cut too small.
Worn cutting blades.
The soil is wet.

Possible solution
Remove the obstacle
Move throttle choke to correct po-
sition: to start and
run.
Fill tank with fuel.
Clean air filter element.
Drain the old fuel and fill in new
fuel. Set the choke lever to
Remove the air filter element. Pull
the starter rope several times.
If that does not help, have an ultra-
sonic cleaning of the carburettor
performed by a specialized me-
chanic.
Tighten the spark plug.
Insert spark plug connector firmly.
Set the correct gap between elec-
trodes. If necessary, install a new
spark plug (cf. separate engine
manual).
Set the choke lever to
pull the starter rope several times
until the carburettor clears itself.
Contact the service hotline.
Set to a smaller working depth.
Only ride half lanes.
Mow the lawn before you scarify it.
Empty the catcher box - free the
blade roller from cuttings.
Clean air filter element.
Set to a larger depth of cut.
Having cutting blades replaced in a
specialist work ship
Wait until it has not rained for at
least one week to use the scarifier.
