Cleaning and disinfecting

NOTICE
Danger of material damage!
Do not use solvents (e.g., acetone, alcohol) or cleaning
agents with abrasive particles for cleaning and disinfecting.
► Only apply the described procedures and use the cleaning
agents and disinfectants specified for powered air-
purifying respirators.
For information on suitable cleaning agents and disin-
fectants and their specifications, see document
9100081 at www.draeger.com/IFU.
5.1.1 Manual cleaning
1. Remove the face shield sealing from the face shield.
2. Remove the visor shield.
3. Prepare a cleaning solution using water and cleaning
agent or a combination of cleaning agent and disinfectant
(recommended: neoform K plus). Alternatively, you can
use lukewarm soapy water.
4. Clean the components as follows:
● Clean the face shield sealing and face shield in an
immersion bath.
Rinse with fresh water and wipe dry.
Allow the comfortable padding and sweatband to dry.
● Use a soft cloth and warm, soapy water to clean the
visor shield.
Rinse with fresh water.
Leave to air-dry.
5. If the face shield sealing and face shield need to be
disinfected:
a. Prepare a disinfectant bath using water and
disinfectant or a combination of cleaning agent and
disinfectant (recommended: neoform K plus).
b. Place the components in the disinfectant bath.
c. Rinse the components thoroughly under running water
and allow to dry.
6. Check all components. Replace any cracked or scratched
components.
7. Allow all parts to air-dry or dry them in the drying cabinet
(temperature: max. 60 °C, time: max. 2 h). Keep out of
direct sunlight.
5.1.2 Mechanical cleaning
Always manually clean the shield sealing separately.
Neither mechanical cleaning nor disinfection is recommended
for this part.
High temperatures during cleaning and disinfection put a lot of
strain on the materials. Dräger recommends using the lowest
possible temperatures (max. 55 °C). The face shield is not
suitable for use in a washing machine and should only be
spray-cleaned/disinfected.
1. Remove the face shield sealing.
2. Insert the face shield in the cleaning/disinfecting unit.
