Adjusting the steering wheel (Fig. 13)
Required tool (supplied): socket wrench with the 14 mm end
Once the seat position is adjusted for comfort and reach of the
pedals, the position of the steering wheel can also be adjusted
forward or backward for comfort.
1. Use the supplied wrench to loosen the locking bolt.
2. Grab the bar of the steering wheel and pull it forward out
of the sleeve or backward into the sleeve until the desired
position is reached.
NOTICE: Make sure the locating block of the bar remains engaged
into the slot of the sleeve, otherwise the steering wheel may
fall down unexpectedly causing damage to the steering wheel.
3. Use the wrench to tighten the locking bolt. The recommended
torque for the locking bolt is 36-41 ft-lb (50-55 Nm).
SETTING THE PARKING-BRAKE PEDAL (Fig. 14)
The parking-brake pedal is used to lock the mower in the braking
position. To start the mower, it should be released from the braking
position.
To set the parking brake:
1. Use your left foot to fully depress and hold the parking-brake
pedal until the pedal stops rebounding.
2. Release the parking-brake pedal. Remove your foot from the
parking-brake pedal.
To release the parking brake, depress the parking-brake pedal
once again; the pedal will rebound to the released position.
WARNING: Never leave the mower unattended during work
breaks without verifying that the parking brake is set and the safety key is removed. Failure to set the parking brake
could cause the mower to move. Leaving the safety key in place may allow unauthorized use that could result in serious
personal injury.
