CHOOSING
THE
(CUTTING TOOL)
TECH 75 tile cutter comes with 5/16 inch (8 mm) scoring wheel, the
TECH 100 with 13/32 inch (10 mm) and the TECH 125 with 13/32 inch
(10mm) and 3/4 inch (18 mm).
To select the most appropriate one, take into account the following
recommendations:
5/16 inch (8 mm) scoring wheels provide a finer cut and are
recommended for cutting soft, thin and slightly rough tiles.
13/32 inch (10 mm) and 3/4 inch (18 mm) scoring wheels are most
suitable for glazed, thicker, tougher and rougher tiles. They are also
more durable for cuts requiring more pressure.

WHEEL
USING YOUR TILE CUTTER
For proper use, follow Figure C, "Use":
1.
Position the tile: Place the tile on the cutter's base, glazed side
up, as indicated below:
1A For single cut. Insert the square into the double rotating
protractors and gently press the knobs to fixing it.
1B For repetitive cuts using the square to ensure an identical width.
Insert the square into the double rotating protractors and gently
press the knobs to fixing it.
1C For diagonal cuts at 45°. Insert the square into the protractors
until the point-slot you need. Press the knobs to fix it.
1D For other angled cuts. Insert the square into the protractors
until the point-slot you need. Press the knobs to fix it.
2.
Adjust the scoring wheel: Turn the handle to release the scoring
wheel. Insert the desired scoring wheel and adjust it to the correct
height to work comfortably and depending on the thickness of the
tile to be cut. Turn in the opposite direction the handle to lock the
scoring wheel.
3.
Mark: Using the scoring wheel, make a first mark at the rear end
of the tile.
4.
Score: Using the first mark as a guide, score the tile along its entire
length at once. It is essential to make a continuous, consistent and
clean cut in a single pass. However, for very hard or very rough
tiles, it is recommended to make two passes to ensure that the
glazed surface is cut through its entire thickness. Otherwise, the
break will not be clean and straight. Be sure that the breaker bar
is upright position.
Narrow cuts (4a): To cut a narrow piece (i.e. 1 inch wide), first cut
a 2 inch wide piece, then cut it down the middle.
Cut: To adjust the height of the scoring wheel untighten the handle,
5.
position the scoring wheel and retighten the handle. Without moving
the tile, position the breaking pad on the upper extremity of it, lift
the handle and lower the lever. The breaking pad will automatically
lock the tile. Tap the main handle gently but firmly and the tile will
break along the line of cut. For diagonal cuts, position the breaking
pad to about 13/32 inches to the end of the tile in order to embrace
the tile completely.
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS
Clean the tile cutter once the job is finished, especially the rail bars.
Clean and lubricate the separation mechanism frequently including
separator lever axles, upper jaw and punch separator.
Check the condition of the scoring wheel and change it if the
cutting edge is damaged.
If repair is necessary, consult your dealer.
Do not make any changes not mentioned in this manual.
SPARE PARTS AND ACCESSORIES
Scoring wheel: you can use 5/16 inch (8 mm), 13/32 inch (10 mm) and
3/4 inch (18 mm) scoring wheels, depending on your preferences and
the type tile to cut. Large diameter scoring wheels are recommended
for thick, hard and rough tiles. See "Choosing the right scoring wheel".
STORAGE
If you do not intend to use the device for a long time, carefully clean
and lubricate the rail bars with some lubricating oil to prevent damage.
Pack and store in a dry and well protected place.
DISPOSAL
Do not dispose of this device or its packaging in household garbage
containers. Use recycling points set up for this purpose. Follow
applicable waste disposal regulations.
USE RECOMMENDATIONS
For cutting high gloss tiles, use a layer (e.g. piece of cardboard,
rubber, cloth ...) between the breaking pad and the tile to prevent
the tile from any damage or mark.
To achieve greater results for narrow cuts, we recommend placing
the tile 0.4 inch (1 cm) down from the double rotating protractors
to apply a greater pressure closer to the edge of the tile.
In the case the tile is only partially separated on one side, we
recommend switching it to properly break the other side.
