Instructions for Use
MABS Connecting Cable and Flexible, Reusable MABS Probes
Storage
Both the flexible MABS probes and the MABS connecting cable should be stored in a cool
and dry place at temperatures between +4,4 °C (40 °F) and +49 °C (120 °F), a relative hu-
midity of 10 % to 70 %. Direct sunshine exposure over an extended period of time should be
avoided.
As a rule, medical devices should never be stored or even used under dusty conditions.
Intended use of the flexible MABS probes
The flexible MABS probes are reusable, steam-sterilizable applicators for argon-supported
coagulation.
The GIT probes are used for esophago-, gastro-, colono- and rectoscopically-assisted interven-
tions in the gastrointestinal tract, while the TBS probes are intended for bronchoscopically-
assisted interventions in the tracheobronchial system.
The flexible probes may be used in conjunction with HF generators producing a maximum out-
put voltage of 4 kV
.
peak
Both the gas supply unit (Beamer) and the HF generator are activated via the HF generator's
footswitch.
Intended use of the MABS connecting cable
The MABS connecting cable is a reusable, steam-sterilizable supply line for flexible argon
probes. Connection to the HF generator is made through an electric line, while an integrated
flexible-tube lumen enables connection to the argon gas supply unit. The connecting cable with
the flexible probes can be used with HF generators having a maximum output voltage of
4 kV
.
peak
Together with the flexible probes, the product is used for argon gas-supported tissue coagula-
tion. Both the gas supply unit and the HF generator are activated via the HF generator's
footswitch.
