Congratulations with your new Stokke® Nomi® Newborn Set
developed for the needs of your infant. Stokke® Nomi® Newborn Set is
approved for children up to 9 kg.
Assembling Stokke® Nomi® Newborn Set
Start by mounting the two legs of the chair as instructed in the user
guide (fig. 1, p. 6) (seat, back and footrest are to be stored and fitted
instead of Stokke® Nomi® Newborn Set when your child can sit
unaided). Use the supplied Allen keys and assembly on a level surface.
The Allen keys are located under the footrest. Then mount Stokke®
Nomi® Newborn Set on the stem as shown (fig. 1, p. 6). Important!
Always use the TufLok® coated screws (TufLok® provides a firmer grip
and the screw do not need to be tightened so often) that comes with
Nomi – the screws are hard to tighten and you have to use both Allen
keys when mounting the legs. Keep counter with one Allen key and
tighten with the other.
Adjusting Stokke® Nomi® Newborn Set
By loosening and tightening the handle under Stokke® Nomi® New-
born Set, you can adjust it seamlessly from almost horizontal to more
upright positions, to meet your child's needs (fig. 2, p. 7).
Attaching the Extended Gliders
The Stokke® Nomi® Newborn Set is delivered with a set of extended
gliders to improve the stability of the Stokke® Nomi® Chair when used
together with the Stokke® Nomi® Newborn Set. The extended gliders
can simply be attached to the plastic foot base of the Stokke® Nomi®
Chair by screwing them in with the plastic bolts.
The harness
While the child is very small, the shoulder straps can be removed or
hidden under the mattress. When your child begin to lift its upper
User Guide
body, use of the shoulder straps is recommended. The entire harness
can be removed and washed (fig. 3, p. 7).
Installing and washing textiles and harness
The mattress and harness are installed by placing the mattress and
harness on the base (fig. 3, p. 7). Pull the straps of the harness through
the mattress and base and fasten it 5 places in the frame (fig. 3a-d, p.
7). This is made easier by pulling the loop sideways through the open-
ings in the frame (fig. 3a+c, p. 7). Pull the loop all the way through
and check that the harness is placed correctly. The mattress is revers-
ible and washable. When washing the mattress, open the harness in
five parts, pull shoulder and side straps through the mattress and only
remove the crotch strap in the frame.
The base, too, can be removed and washed. Remove the harness by
pulling the loop sideways out of the openings in the frame. Loosen
the Velcro fastener in the foot end of the base and remove one side
at a time by pulling the plastic bands out of the groove. Re-install by
putting the plastic bands in the groove one side at a time. Pull down
firmly at the bottom and close the Velcro ties again. Then re-install the
mattress and harness. Do not tumble dry the base.
Cleaning and maintenance
The chair must be cleaned with a damp, soft cloth with a standard
mild detergent such as dish soap. The chair does not tolerate strong
detergents or solvents. Strongly staining foods (such as curry and
ketchup) may discolour the plastic. Any black lines may be removed
with a white pencil eraser. Be aware that the colours of the chair may
fade over time if the chair is placed in direct sunlight.
