Remove stones, branches, wires and other foreign objects from the lawn, as these are
ejected in different directions by the lawn mower and could cause serious injury or
property damage to surrounding objects or to the equipment itself. Do not cut wet
grass. Wet grass residues usually clog the ejection opening at the bottom of the hous-
ing. Shorten grass by a maximum of 1/3 of its length. If you are mowing tall grass,
shorten it in two passes and lower the blade by another third in the second pass. In the
second pass, mow in a different pattern. By overlapping the cut marks on each track,
you can eliminate grass residues. Clean the bottom of the case after each use to remove
lumps of grass, as these could hinder mulching. If you're mowing leaves, make sure it's
dry and hasn't been collected into too large piles. Don't wait to mow leaves until all the
leaves have fallen off the trees.
