11. Testing the chain saw
For all these operations you must disconnect the power tool.
11.1 Checking the chain sprocket
1.
Switch off the chain saw, remove the battery.
2.
Remove the chain sprocket cover.
3.
Remove the bar and chain.
4.
Use a rule gauge to check the wear marks on the sprocket.
5.
If wear marks are deeper than a = 0.5 mm: Do not use your chain saw and contact your servicing dealer.
The chain sprocket must be replaced.
11.2 Checking the guide bar
1.
Switch off the chain saw, remove the battery.
2.
Remove the chain and guide bar.
3.
Measure depth of bar groove with scale on filing gauge.
4.
Install a new guide bar if one of the following points applies:
•
Guide bar is damaged.
•
Measured bar depth is less than specified minimum depth
•
Bar groove is pinched or splayed.
