The pH colour chart to attach to the aquarium pane is only available in
large format. Select the scale which is appropriate for the KH in your
aquarium and stick this to the outside of the aquarium pane near the
appliance.
The correct CO
content
2
For aquarium water JBL recommends a CO
content of between 15 and
2
30 mg/l. 20 - 25 mg/l has proved to be ideal. This level is not harmful for
fi sh and also ensures luxuriant plant growth. Gradually adjust your CO
2
fertilising equipment until this level is reached.
How much CO
has to be added to your fertiliser system to reach this
2
level depends on various factors. Water movement, consumption by the
plants etc. all have an infl uence. The right amount to add therefore has to
be found for each individual aquarium. Please also consult the operating
instructions for your CO
fertilising system.

Changing the indicator liquid
The indicator will slowly fade with time due to the infl uence of lighting.
We therefore recommend refi lling the appliance every 3-4 weeks when
the regular partial change of water is carried out. At the same time any
algae coating etc. should be carefully cleaned from the transparent lid.
Any stubborn algae deposits or lime scale can be removed by soaking in
JBL PowerClean or JBL BioClean.
If the colour scale attached to the transparent lid should fade, this can
also be replaced.
Important:
The correct colour reading is displayed after a time delay of approx. 2
– 3 hours!
The reagent solution is available as a refi ll from your retailer.
