ADJUSTING TOP THREAD TENSION

Balance of top tension
The tension is well balanced when these two threads
'lock' in the middle of layers of fabric
you are sewing.
1. Top thread
2. Bobbin thread
3. Top side of fabric
4. Under side of fabric
Rotate the thread tension dial to adjust top tension
5. Decrease tension
6. Increase tension
Adjust the top tension, depending on:
1. Thickness and compactness of fabric
2. Layers of fabric
3. Stitch
Excessively tight top thread
1. Top thread
2. Bobbin thread
3. Decrease tension
In case of loose bobbin thread exposed from the
front face of fabric, upwards shift the thread holder
adjustment knob (to decrease digit) to decrease top
tension.
Too loose top tension
1. Top thread
2. Bobbin thread
3. Increase tension
In case of loose top thread exposed from the back side of
fabric, downwards shift the thread holder adjustment
knob (to increase digit) to increase top tension.

Equilíbrio da tensão superior
A tensão está bem equilibrada quando os dois fios "se
fecham" na metade das camadas do tecido que está a
coser.
1. Fio superior
2. Fio da canela
3. Parte superior do tecido
4. Parte inferior do tecido
Rode o botão de controlo de tensão para ajustar a
tensão superior
5. Reduzir a tensão
6. Aumentar a tensão
Ajuste a tensão superior em função de:
1. A grossura e a espessura que o tecido tiver
2. Camadas do tecido
3. Pontos
Fio superior demasiado apertado
1. Fio superior
2. Fio da canela
3. Reduzir a tensão
No caso do fio da canela estar pouco tenso na parte
superior do tecido, rode o botão de tensão para cima
(para um número inferior) para reduzir a tensão
superior.
Tensão demasiado baixa do fio superior
1. Fio superior
2. Fio da canela
3. Reduzir a tensão
No caso de que o fio superior exposto na parte traseira
do tecido estiver muito pouco tenso, rode para baixo
o botão de controlo da tensão (para um número mais
elevado) para aumentar a tensão superior.
