5. Plunge cutting (Fig. 25, and Fig. 26)
With this tool, you can perform plunge cutting on
plywood panels and thin board materials. You can
carry out plunge cutting quite easily with the saw
blade installed in reverse as illustrated in Fig. 26.
Use the saw blade that is as short and thick as
possible.
Be sure to use caution during the cutting operation
and observe the following procedures.
(1) Press the lower part (or the upper part) of the base
against the material. Pull the switch trigger while
keeping the tip of the saw blade apart from the
material.
(2) Raise the handle slowly and cut in with the saw blade
little by little.
(3) Hold the body fi rmly until the saw blade completely
cuts into the material.
NOTE
○ Using the collar or the base as support, gradually cut
in from the tip of the blade.
○ As the base is metal, using it for support may scratch
or damage the surface depending on the material
being cut. In this case, use the collar as support. If
you remove the base when window cutting, make
sure it is re-attached to the tool when you continue
operating the tool.
