7.9 Flow Setup & Calibration
Menu location: Setup Menu → OEM Configuration → Flow Setup
The Flow setup menu includes the following options:
• Flow Options . Units of measure, a zero offset value, and the pipe diameter can be set from the Flow Options menu .
The pipe size must be set to allow for proper readings from the flow sensor .
• Custom Calibration . Some plumbing configurations may cause turbulent flows around the installed flow sensor and
cause the flow sensor to display inaccurate flows . Always check the actual flow of your system against a newly installed
Navigator flow sensor to ensure accuracy . If it is inaccurate, custom calibration can be performed to calibrate the flow to
read accurately . The custom calibration procedure is described below .
• Factory Calibration . This option can be selected to reset the flow sensor calibration to factory defaults .
Flow Options:
The Flow Options menu allows the user to adjust the display to show flow in the desired units . The available flow units
are GPM or LPM . Once the units are set, the flow will be converted in the controller and displayed in those units .
The other option in the flow setup menu is an option to set a zero cutoff value . In the case where the display occasionally
shows a low flow in the pipe when there is no flow (i .e . valve installed close to the pump), a zero cutoff may be useful .
Once a zero cutoff value is set, the controller will display a value of zero until it reaches the specified cutoff value and
then it will display normally . For example, if the zero cutoff is set for 20 GPM, and the flow in the line is 15 GPM, the dis-
play will show 0 GPM until it reaches 20 GPM in the line . There is also an Auto setting for the zero cutoff which will return
a zero flow rate whenever the valve is closed .
The flow options menu also includes the Pipe Diameter setting . For the flow sensor to work properly, the pipe diameter
must be set . It must be set before custom calibration is performed .
