15. If your child is already in the safety seat because you have been using
it as a carrier, make sure child is secured with the harness according to
section 7, "Securing Your Child in the Safety Seat/Carrier" (page 37).
16. Make sure that the safety seat is properly secured by the vehicle seat
belt system by performing the following test
EVERY TIME YOU DRIVE WITH YOUR
CHILD:
First, PUSH DOWN on the top of the safety
seat slowly but firmly to make sure the vehicle
belt does not lengthen at all and that the vehicle
belt is fastened very tightly around the safety

Next, holding the safety seat near the vehicle
belt path, TWIST AND PULL the seat forward
and to both sides to make sure the vehicle belt
does not lengthen or loosen and the safety seat
does not easily move
