Connect the mains plug into the socket at the base
Make sure, before you turn the illumination on, that the voltage selector is set to the mains voltage for
your region.
The power cord should be used only on network sockets equipped with adequate grounding.
Contact a technician to check the state of your electrical system. If there is no need to install additional
accessories, the instrument is now ready for use. Once positioned and installed with the necessary
components, the microscope is ready to be used. Your microscope is a laboratory instrument desi-
gned to last. handle it always carefully and avoid abrupt vibrations or shocks. Always disconnect the
power cable from the microscope when not in use for long time, while you clean it or when you perform
any maintenance.

Do not disassemble the instrument. This entails the cancellation of the warranty and may cause
malfunction.
4.1
Place the specimen on the stage
Place the specimen on the microscope stage and lock the specimen slide using the slide-
clamp if it is necessary. Ensure that the specimen is centred over the stage opening.
4.2
Turn on the light
The microscope comes with an electrical illuminator. Insert the plug of the cable into the power socket
and turn on the switch on the main body and select your light source. Turn the light intensity control to
a brightness suitable for observation.
4.3
Adjust interpupillary distance
hold the right and left parts of the observation head by both hands and adjust the interpupillary distance
by turning the two parts until one circle of light can be seen. If two circles appear, the interpupillary dis-
tance is too big, and if two overlapped circles appear, the interpupillary distance is too small.
4.4
Focus
Rotate the focusing knob to bring the slide into focus with the highest magnification.
4.5

dioptric compensation

This compensation makes it possible for people with glasses to adjust the microscope to their eyes and
use the microscope without glasses. Turn the zoom down to the lowest magnification. Adjust the diopter
compensation ring of the right eyepiece tube until the image of the right eyepiece is clear and sharp. Re-
peat the procedure for the left eyepiece. Then, check the focus of the image for the whole zoom range.
It should now be perfectly parfocal (focus is always maintained during the change of magnification).
4.6
Magnification
Select the desired magnification by adjusting the zoom knob. Change the eyepieces and/or add an ap-
propriate magnifying objective lens if necessary. Total magnification used can be calculated as:
Eyepiece magnification x Zoom magnification x Objective lens magnification
4.7
Working distance
normal working distance for the standard configuration is 80 mm (LAB-10) and 8mm (LAB-0).
