CONVERTING THE MACHINE TO BRUSH CUTTER
This string trimmer can be converted into a brush cutter using the EGO kit ABB1203-1
(Sold Separately). The required steps are:
◾
Replacement of the string trimmer head with a metal blade.
◾
Replacement of the string trimmer guard with the brush cutter guard.
◾
Installation of the Safety Barrier Bar (refer to chapter "MOUNTING AND
ADJUSTING THE LOOP HANDLE").
REPLACE THE STRING TRIMMER HEAD WITH THE 3-TOOTH BLADE
(PART OF THE EGO KIT ABB1203-1, SOLD SEPARATELY)
Familiarize yourself with the trimmer head by referring to Fig. 12a.
Follow the steps below to remove the trimmer head and mount the 3-tooth blade.

1. Disconnect the battery pack.
2. Rotate the trimmer head to align the slot in the inner flange with the shaft-locking
hole in the gear case and insert the provided hex key into the aligned hole to act
as a stabilizer (Fig. 12b).
3. Wear gloves. Rotate the trimmer head CLOCKWISE according to the rotation direction
marked on the upper cover (Fig. 12b) until it can be removed from the shaft.
4. The 3-tooth blade is shipped in a sheath. Remove the blade from the sheath
according to Fig. 12c. Keep the sheath in a safe place for future use.
