1.3 Intended use
The Matrx® Libra Cushion is designed with the highest level of skin protection,
positioning and adjustability. It is suitable for all users, with emphasis on individuals at
highest risk of skin breakdown.
1.4 Product description
Matrx® Libra Cushion: The Libra Cushion (A) uses a combination of a molded
high resilience foam (B) with a dual layer fluid sac (C) over the ischial/sacral area.
The anatomically contoured foam provides balance and stability to the pelvis, and
the fluid sac provides maximum protection for boney prominences. Ultra-Fresh™
anti-microbial technology in the foam controls the risk of bacteria and odor.
Fluid Sac: The unique fluid sac (C) design is secured in place on the foam cushion
using Velcro™ tabs. The non-temperature sensitive, innocuous fluid is sealed inside
dual-layer compartments and requires no maintenence or kneading prior to use.
Outer Cover and Inner Liner: The Libra Cushion comes standard with our high-
stretch, breathable, moisture resistant Startex™ outer cover (E). Two additional outer
cover options are also available: Infection Control covers (provide a wipeable surface
for ease of cleaning and disinfection) and Spacetex covers (for greater breathability).
A moisture resistant, breathable platilon inner liner (D) is included with all Libra
Cushions to protect the foam.
Matrx® Libra Adjust Cushion: The optional Libra Adjust Cushion includes two
additional Fluid Supplement Packs (F) to create a deeper contour pelvic well.
Regular cleaning and inspection of the covers is recommended. Refer to Care and
Maintenance instructions in Section 4.0.
