3.6 AC current measurements (frequency, duty cycle)

 Do not make 20 A current measurements for longer than 30 s.
Exceeding 30 seconds may cause damage to the multimeter and
the test leads.
1. Insert the black test lead banana plug into the
negative COM terminal.
2. For AC current measurements up to 6000µA , set
the function switch to the µA position and insert the
red test lead banana plug into the µA/mA terminal.
3. For AC current measurements up to 600mA, set
the function switch to the mA position and insert
the red test lead banana plug into the µA/mA
terminal.
4. For AC current measurements up to 20A, set the
function switch to the 10A position and insert the
red test lead banana plug into the 10A terminal.
5. Press the MODE key to display "AC" on the screen.
6. Remove power from the circuit to be tested, then open the circuit at
the point where you wish to measure current.
7. Apply test probes to the points of the circuit to be tested.
8. Apply power to the circuit.
9. The current measured is displayed on screen.
10. Press the Hz% key to indicate "Hz".
11. The frequency measured is displayed on screen.
12. Press the Hz% key again to display "Hz%".
13. The duty cycle is displayed in percentage.
14. Press the Hz% key to return to current measurement.

3.7 Resistance measurements

To eliminate any risk of deterioration, disconnect power to the
circuit to be tested before making any resistance
measurements.
