IARI Reposition the upper section ol the sensor and attach by pushing away from 'OPEN' as

(ar as it will go (fig. 7).
• 3. FITTING THE MAGNET (Figs 8 10)
Press the groove in the magnet onto a front wheel spoke, level with the position of the sensor,
ensuring that the magnet points towards the sensor (fig. 9).
Push the casing onto the magnet from below using a screwdriver, until the casing
covers the magnet (fig. 10).
NB: The distance between magnet and sensor must not exceed 5 mm (fig. 8).
If necessary place some material between the fork and the sonsor to reduce this distance.
For mountain bikes it may bo necessary to fit the sensor lowor down tho lork in order to
keep within the 5 mm maximum permissible distance between sensor and magnet.
• 4. SETTING THE WHEEL CIRCUMFERENCE (Figs 11 -14)
Measure the wheel diamelor (d) in mm and multiply by 3. M to calculate the wheel circumferen-
( f i . 11).
ce (fig.
-OR-
determine the wheel circumference by rolling the bicycle along levei ground and measuring the
distance for one wheel rotation (fig. 12).
Calculating the wheel size - kllometres/mlles
Using the whoel circumference for calculation will give readings In kilometres.
If you prefer readings In miles divide the circumference by 1.61.
