BROILING
For best results, do not preheat when broiling,
unless your recipe recommends it.
1.
Place the rack so that the surface of the food is
at least 3 inches away from the broil element.
See "Broiling guidelines,"
pp. 22, 23.
2. Put your food on the broiler pan and place the
pan in the center of the oven rack.

3. Close the door to the broil stop position.
The broil stop position lets the door stay open
by itself about 5 inches and ensures proper
broiling temperatures.

Press BROIL.
