User Instructions MSA WORKMAN PFL for Field Line Replacement
STEP 6A:
Check orientation of nozzle insert on the web.
Nozzle insert screw hole must be aligned with
housing screw hole. Proceed to step 7.
TYPE 'A'
Verify line anchor loop is captured by bolt. Improper line replacement may result in serious injury or death.
STEP 9:
Verify line anchor loop is captured by bolt by
vigorously tugging on line.

STEP 6B:
Fit nozzle adapter into housing oriented as
shown.
Check orientation of nozzle insert on the web.
Nozzle insert screw hole must be aligned with
housing screw hole.

STEP 10:
While maintaining tension on the line, remove
the line replacement housing access door.
Allow line to retract slowly into unit.

STEP 7:
Insert new line. Use a flat blade screwdriver
to assist seating the web anchor loop into the
drum. Visually verify loop is seated in the drum
by looking though the bolt hole.
WARNING
STEP 11:
Fit nozzle into housing and secure with new
screw.
Replace original housing access door and
install new housing seal.

STEP 8:
Insert web anchor bolt through housing access
door and web loop.
Tighten with 1/4 inch hex wrench using 3/8 inch
drive to stabilize drum.
STEP 12:
Verify correct operation of the unit. Payout and
retract the line, locking the unit several times
with short, sharp tugs.
