or four satellite speakers, is a top-quality product
that will introduce you to a new dimension of
sound, whether with films or musical perfor-
mances on your Loewe TV set or with playback on
external devices, such as video recorders or DVD
players.
As well as ensuring the highest of quality, we
consider making the installation, assembly, star-
ting up and operation as easy as possible for you
just as important, so that you can experience the
new sound sensation immediately and with ease.
Still, you should take a few minutes to read
through this instruction manual to ensure the
best location for your system and the best possi-
ble operating conditions.

Concertos from Loewe and Bose
presents an out
of this world audio experience. It has a whole
range of advantages that you could not expect
from any other standard component.
The integrated technology in the system adjusts
playback of sound to make it appropriate for the
human ear, automatically and dynamically. Even
when the volume is low, you will hear full bass in
the right proportion to high and middle tones. In
brief: you will only be able to hear HiFi sound
quality at any volume with this system.
It recreates the three dimensionality and live
atmosphere of a large concert hall or cinema
directly in your living room, by using the Direct/
Reflecting
®
Bose
®
patented speaker technology.
This creates immense, 3D sound characteristics.
Other standard boxes cannot offer you this.
Direct emitting speakers provide stereo sound
only from one very restricted place between the
boxes. On the other hand, Concertos brings
sound that remains true to the original format
with a lifelike proportion of direct and indirect
sound energy into your living room. At last, you
can listen to HiFi sound everywhere in the entire
room.
The patented Acoustimass
®
speaker technology
from Bose
®
is the first to provide immense sound
that fills the entire room from virtually invisible
speakers. The satellite speakers provide an
attractive replacement for your old, colossal
sound equipment. And as the heart of this spea-
ker technology, the Acoustimass
®
module will
simply conceal itself completely somewhere in
the home.
Unlike other boxes, the Concertos Acoustimass
module does not emit the low frequencies of all
channels directly via the membrane movements
in the room, but rather via the air movements of
the so-called "acoustic masses", making the bass
particularly powerful and with absolutely no dis-
tortion. And as the source of undistorted low fre-
quencies is not defined by location, the module
can be concealed anywhere in your home irre-
spective of where the satellite speakers are: it
appears as if the entire sound, including the
powerful bass comes from the satellite speakers.

Decoding technology is compatible
with most modern digital software formats, like
5.1 channel DVDs. Each of the five of four spea-
kers emits a separate audio signal, another chan-
nel provides the sensational bass effects. The old
sound formats have only one channel for both
rear speakers - in fact you only experience 4
channel instead of 5 channel surround sound. The
new formats now provide realistic stereo sound
from the surround speakers.
If you have already experienced digital 5.1 Sur-
round Sound, you will have asked yourself how
you would be able to appreciate your old video
tapes, or even black and white TV programmes
again. Bose

and Loewe have finally provided
you with an answer, and it is one you will like: the
Videostage 5
®
technology patented by Bose
provides the surround sound experience from five
or four separate speakers, whether you want to
enjoy your old video tapes or an old black and
white film on TV. You will always experience the
5.1 equivalent Surround Sound. Incidentally,

thanks to Videostage 5
Post Processing, you will
hear voices and dialogue always from the correct
position on the screen, as if your were in a large
cinema and not above or below the TV set.
As if that was not enough: the new Bose Digital
®
Dynamic Range
Technology allows you to listen
to quiet dialogue, whereas previously you would
have had lower the volume, so as not to disturb
®
the neighbours when enjoying booming special
effects. This convenient Bose
®
Technology means
you no longer have to keep adjusting the volume
constantly. Think of the most exciting action-pak-
ked scene you have seen recently at the cinema.
Not only did you hear the special effects, but you
could also feel them. The bass effects in larger
cinemas are amplified so that the sound genera-
tes the exact reaction that the director had inten-
ded.
Home Cinema Systems must also amplify this
deep bass at a decisive moment to make the film
seem realistic. But obviously, this extra portion of
bass will cause disturbance when you want to
listen to music. Concertos readjusts this bass
playback automatically, if you want to switch
between TV and radio operation.
