3. Autotest
Always perform an autotest before and after
using your detector.
Do not use the instrument if the autotest
proves incorrect.
The autotest can be used to check that the
detector is operating correctly overall: from the
test probes to the LEDs via the lead, the
electronics and the batteries.
Implementation:
Connect the leads.
Touch black test probe with red test probe.
Press the autotest button.
Result:
All the voltage detection LED must light up :
the autotest is OK.
If the autotest is incorrect, change the
batteries or carry out repairs.
4. Voltage detection AC/DC, Polarity
Always perform an autotest before and after
using the detector.
Never use the detector if the autotest is
incorrect.
Place the two test probes on the circuit to be
tested.
The presence of a voltage on the circuit
triggers automatic activation of the voltage
detection LEDs if the voltage is greater than
50V.
The rated voltage level of the circuit is
indicated by the last LED lit (12V, 24V, 50V,
127V, 230V, 400V or 690V).
If none of the LEDs comes on, no voltage or
voltage < 10V.
The two LEDs (+ and –) come on for an AC
voltage.
A single LED (+ or –) comes on for a DC
voltage and indicates the polarity.
