Important safety instructions for the user

Dear MHZ customer,
Congratulations on your new MHZ product. You have chosen a product
of high quality. The safety of all MHZ external roller blinds complies
with recognised engineering regulations.
Nevertheless, we feel duty bound to familiarise you with the following
safety information. To ensure that you gain great pleasure from your
product for many years to come, we would therefore ask you to heed
these operating instructions.

Reading the operating instructions
FR
FR
The operating instructions must be read prior to the first use of
the external roller blind. It is important for the safety of users
and others that these instructions are followed. Failure to do so
absolves the manufacturer of any duty of liability. All instructions
are to be kept by the customer for future reference and must
be passed on to the new owner if the external roller blind is sold.
The optional insect screen is not suitable for use as fall protection for
children or pets.
Operation
NL
NL
It must be ensured that children and individuals who cannot
properly assess the risks associated with incorrect or improper
use do not operate the external roller blind. Wireless remote
control units must be kept out of their reach.
There must be no obstacles in the external roller blind's area of travel.
When the blind is being retracted or extended moving parts must
not be touched. When maintenance work is being done to window
or fa ade, the external roller blind must first be taken down in order
to prevent it from inadvertently extending.
Caution, risk of crushing!
The basic rule is that when bad weather, storms, thunder and light-
ning, frost, rain or snow are imminent the external roller blind must
be retracted in good time and may not be used.
EN
EN
If the blind fabric is retracted while damp or wet, it must be extended
and dried out immediately after the rain has subsided.
Use in windy conditions
The exterior roller blind is tested to EN 13561and achieves wind
resistance class 2 with the window closed.
The wind resistance class according to EN 13561 does not allow
any conclusion to be drawn about the suitability for use (retraction/
extension, intermediate positions as well as noise development)
under actual wind load, therefore we, as the manufacturer, indicate
the maximum speed above which the external roller blind is to be
retracted.
Up to 1.5 m² area, max. 6 m/s (21 km/h; Beaufort scale 4)
ES
ES
Up to 2.0 m² area, max. 5 m/s (18 km/h; Beaufort scale 3)
Up to 2.64 m² area, max. 4 m/s (14 km/h; Beaufort scale 3)
The blind must be retracted fully as soon as the relevant value is
exceeded, if not before.
With the window open, these values decrease individually, depend-
ing on the specific local conditions.

For your safety
Use in sun
Please note that depending on the transparency of the fabric and the
amount of light getting in at the side there may still be some UVA and
UVB rays inside the room. It can thus slow down but not completely
prevent items of furniture from fading.
Taking down / Storage / Maintenance / Care
Taking the blind down
The external roller blind is taken down in reverse order to its instal-
lation. First the external roller blind is retracted. Then, by undoing
the four screws and pushing back the AR fixings, the frame, com-
plete with the entire unit, can be taken out to the rear.
Storage
Store the unit with the fabric retracted in a dry place, free of dust.
Upkeep and cleaning
Frame: All aluminium parts are powder-coated and thus not
–
susceptible to the weather. Nevertheless, we recommend that you
clean the aluminium parts with water and a household detergent at
regular intervals (do not use abrasive or scouring cleaning agents).
Fabric: MHZ blind fabrics are putrefaction inhibiting and dirt-re-
–
pellent.
–
If they get dirty, first brush dirt off dry. If necessary, then wash off using
lukewarm water, adding a pH-neutral cleaning agent. Do not use any
abrasive or scouring cleaning agents, as the impregnation would be
washed away. If in doubt, do a test cleaning in an inconspicuous spot.
–
Insect screen mesh: MHZ insect screens have great tensile strength
and are resistant to weathering. Any dirt or insect remains on them
can be carefully wiped off using a slightly damp micro-fibre cloth.
For stubborn dirt, a pH-neutral cleaning agent can also be used
to help.
Maintenance
Safe and risk-free use of the external roller blind can only be guaran-
teed if the system is inspected and maintained regularly. The following
points should be carried out regularly,
and in any case at least once a year:
Inspect the fabric and frame for any signs of wear or damage.
–
Check the fixation points with which the external roller blind s side
–
guide rails are fixed to the frame.
Regularly (at least twice a year) clean the external roller blind fabric
–
and insect screen mesh.
If any damage or unusual noises are noticed, the repair must be
commissioned from a specialist retailer or suitable technical support
company. Any blinds in need of repair must be taken down and may
not be used.
The operation of a non-compliant product can lead to injuries to
people or animals and/or to damage!
