Defrosting / Hygrometry / Ventilation
The unit is designed with an automatic defrost system. During the "off cycle" the evaporator at
the back, on the rear wall of the unit, defrosts automatically.
Condensation collects in the drain pan behind the rear wall of the unit, and some of it flows
through the drain hole in the drip pan above the compressor.
Heat is transferred from the discharge pipe or compressor evaporating any condensation that
accumulates in the tray. Some of the remaining water is collected inside the unit for humidity
issues.
This system allows the creation of the correct humidity level inside your unit, required by the
natural cork, to maintain a long lasting seal.
The appliance is not completely sealed: The fresh air intake is via the drain pipe. The air is
circulated through the unit by means of a fan / fans through the shelf openings.
NOTE: Frost may accumulate on the evaporator if the unit is opened in frequent high ambient
heat or is located in a place with high humidity. If the frost does not disappear within 24 hours,
your unit will require manual defrosting.
IMPORTANT: Do not install the wine cooler, especially the built-in models, in such a way
that in adjacent areas there are sources of heat, such as freez, ers ovens, cookers, etc.... This may
cause the compressor unit to never stop working and the unit to produce excess ice, affecting
the correct operation of the internal fans and the compressor unit itself.
