3. Structure and use
Equipment required:
In order to perform effective CPAP therapy with the Neojet, the following equipment is required:
• A CPAP driver or a ventilator which provides a connection for external measurement of CPAP pressure.
• An active humidifier.
• A Neojet.
• A heated patient circuit compatible with the humidifier and the Neojet is required. The connection at the end of the in-
spiration tube must be F10/M7.4 and the pressure measurement line must include a Luer connector (M4.3) in order for
it to fit on the Neojet.
• A tape measure to determine the size of bonnets and prongs.
• A bonnet - select the correct size to fit the baby.
• A mask or prong of the correct size.
Warning: Packaging
If the packaging for a part is damaged or if the products themselves are damaged, these parts must not be used and must be
disposed of.
You should also examine the holes in the generator and the prongs/masks to check they are clear. If the openings are not clear,
the products affected must not be used.
Structure and setup of the system
(1) Connect the tube set on the CPAP driver/ventilator to the humidifier. If
necessary, use the enclosed adapter. Push the temperature sensors in
up to the stop; their tip must be in the gas flow.
(2) Connect the Neojet to the inspiration tube (larger connection on the
Neojet). Push the pressure measurement line into the pressure mea-
surement port of the Neojet (smaller connection) and connect the pres-
sure measurement line to the pressure measurement port of the CPAP
driver or ventilator.
(3) Seal the prong adapter of the Neojet by hand and set the parameters, e.g.
pressure, on the CPAP driver or ventilator. If this is not possible, check
the tube connections for leaks. If all the connections are correct and the
Neojet is still causing problems, it must be disposed of and not used.
Important note: Faulty Neojet
If the Neojet is not working correctly, it must not be used.
