Operating video
equipment
You can program the supplied remote commander to
operate video equipment that have an infrared remote
sensor. For programming, set the manufacturer's code
number. You can set the manufacturer's code to each
of four positions of the VTR1 2 3 MDP selector, so that
you can operate four different pieces of equipment.
Setting the manufacturer's code
The following Sony video equipment is assigned to
each position of the VTR1 2 3 MDP selector at its
factory preset:
VTR1 Beta, ED Beta VCRs
VTR2 8 mm VCR
VTR3 VHS VCR

Note
• To use another manufacturer's equipment besides a Sony VCR,
set the selector to a position not being used for your Sony VCR.

Turn off the equipment you want to set up.

Open the lid, then set the VTR1 2 3 MDP
selector to the position you want to set the
code.

Press CODE SET, then press 0 – 9 to enter
the manufacturer's code number (see the
chart below) and press ENTER. For
example, to operate a Sony 8 mm VCR,
press CODE SET, 3, 0, 2 and ENTER.
