FILLING UP THE OIL TANK
• Place the machine on a flat, horizontal and clear surface.
• Unscrew the oil filler cap.
• Add the indicated oil quantity through the filler hole. Wait 1 minute for the oil to fully drain into the crankcase.
• Clean the oil filler dipstick with a cloth.
• Insert the dipstick without screwing the oil cap.
• Remove the cap and check the mark that the oil has left on the dipstick. The mark left by the oil must be near
or at the maximum mark.
• If the mark is below the minimum add a little more oil and check again.
• If the mark is above the maximum you will have to remove oil from the crankcase. To do this tilt the machine on
its side, place a container on the end of the tube to prevent oil from spilling through the machine or the floor.
NOTE: This machine has an oil sensor to prevent the engine from starting with an oil level below the
recommended minimum. If the oil level is inadequate the engine will not start.
ENGINE STARTING AND STOPPING
VERIFICATION POINTS BEFORE START-UP
Do not use this machine if it is damaged or improperly adjusted. Inspect the machine:
• Look for loose parts (screws, nuts, etc.) and damage.
• That there are no fuel leaks.
• Crankcase oil level.
• That the air filter is clean. Clean the filter if necessary.
Tighten, repair or replace everything necessary before using the machine. Do not use accessories on this machine
other than those recommended; otherwise this could cause serious damage to the user, the machine, people, animals
and things near the machine.
POSITIONING THE MACHINE
Make sure you place the machine in a stable position. Connect a wire from the generator grounding to the ground.
ENGINE STARTING
Follow the cold start or hot start procedure depending on the condition of your engine.
COLD ENGINE START
• Place the machine on a flat, stable surface to start it.
• Set the Alternating Current (AC) circuit breaker to the OFF position.
• Turn the fuel cock to the ON position.
• Place the air lever in the closed air position CHOKE.
• Set the engine switch to ON position.
• Hold the machine by the frame so that it does not move from its position on the ground when you pull the
starter cord.
• Pull the starter cord until the engine starts.
• If the machine starts and does not stop, gradually position the air lever to the RUN position.
• Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes before using the machine.
