ATTENTION: Remember that if the oil level is insufficient, the engine will not start up for safety.
If the oil level drops to minimum levels the engine will stop automatically to avoid damage to it.
CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL
Carry out the oil change only with the engine still hot from operation.
ATTENTION: Used oil should not be disposed of in the sewer system or land. Groundwater and
subsoil water flow contamination is subject to severe penalties. In service stations there are special
collection places. Alternatively, consult your local authority for more information.
To change the oil:
•
Place the machine on a flat, horizontal and clear surface.
•
Empty used engine oil.
•
If you decide to drain the oil through the drain plug, take into account where the oil will fall on the machine
frame and place a large container to collect all the oil before falling onto the ground. We recommend you to
place a large plastic covering the area where you are going to make the oil change to prevent oil from spilling
onto the ground if the oil falls where you did not expected.
•
Once the working area has been prepared, remove the oil drain plug and tilt the generator slightly so that the oil
comes out and falls into the container.
•
Install the oil drain plug.
•
Unscrew the oil filler cap.
•
Insert the oil through the filler hole.
•
Wait for a minute so that the oil fully drains into the crankcase.
•
Clean the oil dipstick with a cloth.
•
Insert the dipstick without screwing the oil cap.
•
Remove and check the mark that the oil has left on the dipstick. The mark left by the oil must be between the
minimum and maximum mark.
•
If the mark is below the minimum add a little more oil and check again.
•
If the mark is above the maximum mark you will have to remove oil from the crankcase. To do this tilt the machine
on its side, place a container at the end of the tube to prevent oil from spilling through the machine or the floor.
AIR FILTER
If you notice any damage or alterations to the filter, replace it with a new one.
The air filter of this machine is made of foam, and it can be cleaned as follows:
•
Remove the protective filter cap.
•
Take out the filter.
•
Clean the filter with soapy water.
•
Rinse the filter with plenty of clean water.
•
Allow the filter to dry.
•
Once dry moisten it with 2 drops of oil (if you moisten the filter with too much oil the machine may not start).
•
Install the filter into the machine.
•
Install the protective cap.
NOTE: The engine should never work without the air filter installed.
FUEL FILTER
•
The fuel tank is equipped with a filter. This is located under the fuel tank cap.
•
Check the fuel filter periodically. Do not allow dirt to enter the fuel tank to prevent the filter from getting dirty. A
dirty filter will make it more difficult to start the engine and will cause anomalies in the operation or stop it.
•
Check the fuel. If you notice dirt, replace it.
•
If the inside of the fuel tank is dirty, you can clean it with gasoline.
•
There is another fuel filter in the stopcock. To clean it, follow the instructions as per the pictures below.
