DOOR REVERSAL
This refrigerator has been built with the door hinges on the right.
It is recommended to contact a qualified technician to reverse the
door. Do not reverse the door unless you feel you are qualified to
do so. It is necessary to tilt the refrigerator backward in order to
reverse the door.
Caution:
To avoid injury to yourself and/or property, a
second person should assist you during the door reversal
process.
•
Ensure the appliance is unplugged and empty.
•
Do not lay the refrigerator on its back or tilt it more than
45° when reversing the door, as this damages the cooling
system.
•
Make sure to have a second person available, and a strong,
solid surface/wall against which to lean the appliance so
that it does not slip. This will be necessary when taking off
the door.
WARNING: As stated above, ensure that the refrigerator is powered
off and unplugged before reversing the door.
Tools Required:
•
Hexagonal Wrench
•
Phillips style screwdriver
•
Flathead screwdriver
To reverse the side on which the door opens, you must remove the
upper freezer door first, then the lower fridge door. You will then
replace them in the reverse order with the hinges on the other side:
1. Remove the screws of the top cover
which is covering the top hinges,
then lift the top cover to remove it.
2. With all hinge covers removed,
Unscrew the screws to the top hinge
and remove the top hinge bracket.
Ensure the freezer door does not
fall.
3. Lift the upper freezer door carefully
and place it on a soft pad to avoid
scratching.
4. Remove the hinge pin from
that upper bracket (that
you just removed from the
freezer door). Screw the top
hinge pin back into the other side of that hinge.
5. Unscrew the middle hinge. Ensure
the lower door does not fall.
6. Lift and remove the refrigerator door.
Place it on a padded surface to pre-
vent any scratching.
7. Move the hinge hole cov-
ers from the left side over
to the right side.
8. Tilt the unit slightly toward
the rear and prop it secure-
Unscrew the bottom hinge and
well as the leveling feet.
9. Unscrew the hinge pin from the
bottom bracket. Screw the hinge pin
back into the hinge from the other side.
10. Screw the bottom bracket back
into the left side, with the hinge
pin facing up. Screw the adjust-
able feet back into where they
were.
11. Stand the unit upright and replace the lower door (for the
refrigerator) on the bottom hinge. Make sure the bottom
hinge pin is inserted into the door hole. Ensure the door is
aligned properly so that the gasket/seal closes completely
on all sides.
12. Move the hinge hole cover on the top of the refrigerator
(bottom) door from the left side to the right.
13. Install the middle hinge on the left
side of the unit now, make sure it
is flipped to the correct side and
securely fastened.
14. Place the upper (freezer) door back on to the unit now.
Ensure the door is aligned properly so that the gasket/seal
closes completely on all sides.
15. When the seal is good, place the
upper hinge back on to the unit,
with the hinge pin facing down. It
should insert into the door. Make
sure its screws are securely fastened.
16. Replace the top cover and its
screws.
