ADDITIONAL TIPS AND BEST PRACTICES
When purchasing chilled food, store all chilled food together while transporting it back from the store.
Place it in the fridge as soon as possible, before the other items.
Do not overfill the refrigerator, as this blocks proper circulation and increases the consumption of energy.
Leave space around the food to allow proper air circulation.
To maintain temperature, only open the fridge door to put food in or take food out. Allow hot food to
cool down before putting it into the refrigerator.
Glass and plastic bottles should not be placed in the chiller compartment unless recommended by the
product manufacturer.
Do not place carbonated beverages in the freezer. Do not put fresh food directly in contact with al-
ready-frozen food. The storage life of frozen foods tends to vary and the recommended storage time
should not be exceeded. If there is too much food in the freezer, the freezing will be diminished and
affect the quality of the food. Carefully select food you intend to freeze, it should be of adequate quality
and suitable for freezing.
When emptying the refrigerator or freezer for cleaning, defrosting, transportation or other means, do not
allow that food to spoil or develop bacteria.
After transporting the unit or reversing the door, the gasket/seal on the doors may have to be reset. This
is done to prevent the cool refrigerated air from escaping. If there is a gap between the door gasket and
the cabinet, set the gasket by gently pulling it out to seal the gap.
There are multiple shelves in the fridge that can be removed or changed as needed to accommodate the
fridge items according to your use. However, always keep one of the shelves installed into the lowest slot,
above the crisper.
During a power outage, do not open the refrigerator unless necessary. Do not place additional food into
the unit. Take good care in examining the food before eating it, as there is a health risk of eating spoiled
food that has not been refrigerated properly. Some food may need to be eaten before it spoils. If the unit
is unplugged or has lost power, wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting the unit. Otherwise, the unit may
not start.
Keep foods well-sealed to prevent them from drying out and to keep odors from mixing.
Store raw meat and fish on the lowest shelf to prevent contamination.
The crisper compartment is meant for fruits and vegetables. Remember that not all types of fruits and
vegetables require refrigeration. Many whole foods such as radishes, bananas, pumpkins and onions are
not necessary to refrigerate.
The crisper is not cold enough to keep frozen treats such as ice cream or popsicles. Those items require
the freezer.
Do not let any fats come into contact with the plastic parts of the refrigerator.
Do not store canned items, as they can expand and burst.
Food that has been left at room temperature for a prolonged period can cause the food to develop bacte-
ria.
Ensure that bottles and food containers are clean and dry before storing them in the refrigerator.
Turning the temperature control dial to the "0" position will stop cooling but it does not cut off power to
the refrigerator.
When the appliance is not in use for a long period of time (such as more than a month, or several
months), turn down the thermostat and disconnect the appliance from the power supply. Empty all food
items and clean the appliance using the instructions in this manual. Leave the door ajar to prevent odors
from being trapped in.
