Electrical Shock Hazard
Terminals identified by the symbol, bring the various parts of a
system to the same potential e.g. ground potential, when con-
nected together. Note that such a terminal must not be used as a
protective earth (ground) connection.

Covers or panel(s) should be removed by qualified personnel on-
ly.
Warning
Always use a damp cloth to clean the surfaces of the extraction
unit, especially the glass. Using a dry cloth involves a risk of static
electicity.
Warning
Any modification, alteration, rebuilding or use of safety parts
not authorized by FOSS Analytical AB AB voids the warranty.
FOSS Analytical AB cannot be held liable for damage to property
or injury to persons occuring as a result of such actions.
Warning
Maintenance of the Extraction Unit is restricted for the operator.
Glass parts, tubes and wiring may be changed according to the in-
structions in this manual, but all other necessary servicing must
be performed by authorized personnel.
Warning
All connections with symbols on the Extraction Unit must be con-
nected to those marked with the corresponding symbols on the
Control Unit or Drive Unit.
Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect the incoming mains supply before replacing fuses or
removing any cover.
Warning
Servicing and exchange of the Control Unit and Drive Unit must
be performed by a service engineer authorized by FOSS Analyti-
cal AB.
Caution
The standard seals are heat sensitive. It is therefore recommend-
ed to run empty positions with solvent (approx. 20ml) in the
cups, to prevent damage to seals in the long term.
Note: To maintain the limits for CE approval, only CE approved
instruments may be connected.
Warning
It is not recommended to use Diethyl ether due to the explosion
risk when handling it.
