5.4.10 Solvent Recovery, Removal of Thimbles and Extrac-
tion Cups

During RECOVERY the valves are closed and the condensed solvent is trans-
ferred to the collection vessel. The air pump is started automatically when the
countdown reaches the last three minutes of the recovery step to evaporate the
last traces of solvent left in the cups. To set a time other than three minutes, see
section "Air Time". This may be necessary for high-boiling solvents like Tolu-
ene or Xylene.

When the program is completed the system stops in position 3, with cups and
condensers mated. To release the cups, first press the 9 key and wait for the Ex-
traction Unit to go to position 2, loading/unloading cups. Take out the cups using
the cup holder.
Caution
Do not press the 9 key when the thimble support holder is used
in the EU
Take out the thimbles using the thimble support holder. Bend the thimble
support holder and remove the thimbles from the magnets. Alternately
press the 9 key and remove the thimbles manually.
If another extraction is to be performed immediately, load a new batch of
thimbles and cups and press the 6 key.

5.4.11 Drying step - Continue Heating
It is possible to let the controller maintain the temperature of the hot plate for up to
59 minutes after the recovery step is finished.
When setting up the program set the fourth step on the controller to a desired value
from 0 to 59 minutes.
5.4.12 Closing Down

Switch off the "MAIN" switch.
2.
Empty the solvent collection vessel.
