2. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
2.1 Product description / Intended use
Zenit UNIQA is a range of submersible electric pumps with energy-saving motor.
These products are intended for use in residential, industrial and municipal sewage treatment plants and lifting stations.
They are designed to lift and pump slurries, faecal material, clean water, waste water or water soiled with solid or fibrous materials.
They may not be used with liquids for human consumption or in potentially explosive atmospheres (except for models with explosion-proof certi-
fication).
Explosion proof electric pumps, identifiable by the -Ex acronym, are certified according to the antideflagrant protection mode
recorded on the plate (See Points 2.4, 2.4.1).
UNIQA submersible pumps must under no circumstances be used to pump explosive, flammabile or comustible liquids.
This electric pump is a fixed appliance intended to be used while fastened to a support or while secured in a specific loca-
tion. This appliance is not intended to be held in the hand during normal use.
To shut down the power supply in case of motor overheating, the equipment is provided, as standard, with thermal protectors into the stator win-
ding (See Point 5.5).
The electric pump can be equipped with a leakage detector as an accessory to detect and signal the infiltration of water into the oil chamber of
the mechanical seals (See Point 5.6).
The enclosures of the electric pump motors are identified by one or two letters specifying design and material
G, X = electric motor casing type G with constructional material in cast iron or type X with constructional material in stainless steel;
M, MX = electric motor casing type M with constructional material in cast iron or type MX with constructional material in stainless steel.
The equipment is available in two version: WET and DRY.
WET version: suitable to operate in S1 continuous duty type fully submerged. Contact Zenit for periodic, intermittent duty type (S3) in dry condition
-Ex model in WET version must be installed in VERTICAL position, fully submerged.
DRY version: suitable for the operation within wells or tank even if partially submerged or in dry chamber. Pumps in DRY version are always
equipped with cooling jacket. The pump can be installed in VERTICAL or HORIZONTAL position.
The user is required to define a suitable inspection programme in order to avoid the layer of dust on the surface of the electric
pump from exceeding 5 mm.
2.2 Technical data
The product's technical data and characteristics are provided in the technical data sheet.
2.3 Operating limits
For correct use, comply with the following operating conditions:
- Liquid/Ambient temperature: 0 ÷ 40°C
- Duty service: S1 operation (continuous operation)
- Maximum immersion depth 20m
- Starts per hour (equally distributed): maximum 20 for motor with rated power P2 up to 10 kW, 15 for P2 over 10 kW
- pH value: 6 ÷ 14
- Minimum liquid level (See Point 4.11)
- Frequency converter operation (See Point 5.3)
