Return the blade guard and center cover to its original posi-
tion. Then tighten the hex socket bolt of the center cover to secure it.
Lower the carriage and check that the blade guard moves properly.

Removing the circular saw blade
1.
Complete the steps in the "Common preparations
for installing or removing the circular saw blade".

Press the shaft lock to lock the spindle. Loosen the hex
socket bolt clockwise using the hex wrench. Then remove the
hex socket bolt, outer flange and circular saw blade.

If the inner flange is removed, install it on the spin-
dle with its blade mounting part facing the circular saw
blade. If the flange is installed incorrectly, the flange will
rub against the machine.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to lose the removed outer
flange and hex socket bolt.
Connecting a vacuum cleaner
When you wish to perform clean cutting operation,
connect a Makita vacuum cleaner.
NOTICE:
Depending on the type of vacuum cleaner
and hose used, the dust collecting port may be
blocked by the dust collecting guard, making it impos-
sible to collect dust. In that case, weaken the suction
power of the vacuum cleaner.
