„ Adjust the position of the handle rotating the handle
forward or rearward as desired.
„ Tighten handle lock knob securely.
NOTE: For fine adjustments, slightly loosen the knob on
the handle bracket, move to the desired position and
tighten securely.
NOTE: Do not attempt to move the handle bracket forward
on the boom beyond the stop rivet. This stop is to prevent
the operator from becoming too close to the cutting blade.
ASSEMBLING THE 2-IN-1 GUARD
See Figure 4.
„ Slide the brush cutter guard and the extension guard
together by aligning the raised rail and slot.
„ Align the screw through the hole and tighten to secure.
NOTE: The screw may need to be lifted to align in the
hole of the brush cutter guard.
ATTACHING THE 2-IN-1 GUARD
See Figure 5.
NOTICE:
Failure to attach the guard prevents the line being cut to
the proper length and can cause tool failure.
NOTE: Install the guard before the lower shaft is connected
to the power head shaft.
„ Stop the motor and remove the battery pack.
„ With the string head removed, place the 2-in-1 guard on
the gear head as shown.
„ Install the two screws from the top through the guard.
„ Tighten the screws securely.
PREPARING THE GEAR SHAFT FOR
ASSEMBLY
Before attaching any cutting elements remove the nut, special
construction washer and blade washer from the gear shaft.
ASSEMBLY
CONNECTING THE POWER HEAD SHAFT
AND LOWER SHAFT
See Figure 6.
NOTE: Install the 2-in-1 guard before the attachment is
connected to the power head.
The lower shaft connects to the power head shaft by means
of a coupler device.
„ Loosen the bolt on the coupler of the power head shaft
and remove the end cap from the lower shaft.
„ Push in the button located on the lower shaft. Align the
button with the guide recess on the power head coupler
and slide the two shafts together. Rotate the lower shaft
until the button locks into the positioning hole.
NOTE: If the button does not release completely in the
positioning hole, the shafts are not locked into place.
Slightly rotate from side to side until the button is locked
into place.
„ Tighten the bolt securely with the combination wrench.
INSTALLING AND REMOVING THE TRI-ARC
BLADE
See Figures 7-8.
WARNING:
Always wear heavy gloves when removing or handling
the blade. Contact with the sharp blade can result in cuts
and/or other serious personal injuries.
Installing:
„ Stop the motor and remove the battery pack.
NOTE: Ensure the nut, special construction washer, and
blade washer are removed from the gear head shaft before
attempting to install the TRI-ARC™ Blade.
„ Place the flange washer on the gear head shaft.
NOTE: The hollow side of the flange washer should face
the gear head.
„ Center the blade on the flange washer making sure the
blade fits flat and the raised hub of the flange washer
goes through the hole in the blade.
„ Place the blade washer on the blade.
